When I was trying to figure out what to write today, mulling over the options for a printable or craft, I mentioned to my roommate that Father’s Day doesn’t seem to be as big of a deal around here as Mother’s Day usually is.  I mean you hear all over the internet about Mother’s Day brunches and bringing mom breakfast in bed and showering mom with gifts and a day off of taking care of the kids.

But dad’s commercials about Father’s Day usually consist of buying him a grill or a power tool and calling it a day.  I know that mom’s do a lot of the homemaking and meal cooking and running around of the kids.  But dad’s deserve their day, too!  So, here’s to dads!  For all the yard work and the bringing home the bacon and the taking out the trash and the fixing things.

There are a decided lack of crafts going on for Father’s Day usually because school is already out for summer.  I often tried to send home some kind of Father’s Day crafts with my kiddos but the end of the year just gets so busy with all the assemblies and early dismissals that it was hard.  And poor dad just never got the same fanfare mom gets in May.

So I was inspired by my Jamberry friends who are as obsessed with puns as I am!  And while we were trading some pun meme’s on Facebook this weekend I was inspired!  So here are some cute printable Father’s Day cards perfect for dad.  Print them on card stock, trim them to your favorite size, and have the kids decorate the inside, back side, upside down!

Show dad a little extra love this Father’s Day.  Make him breakfast in bed.  Take him out to brunch.  Or a manly {and delicious} BBQ place.  Let him watch some sport that’s uninterrupted by cartoons or pleading to open a jar or fix a toy.  And hand him one of these adorable cards to say “thanks for being my dad!”  And you should absolutely check out this super easy and adorable DIY Canvas Art that’s perfect for Father’s Day!

What are you doing to make dad feel special on Father’s Day?
