White hot chocolate is a perfect grown up drink for a winter day drink! 

 

Some people would argue that coffee is the official drink of grown ups but I would have to disagree. I think when you can get all fancy schmancy with an old classic it makes it just as worthy of the title. Sure you CAN share this one with the kids but, for real, why would you want to? They can have the powdered stuff and you can have this. Ok, ok, FINE. Share this with the kiddos if you must but feel free to keep the biggest portion for yourself. I won’t tell 😉

This came about after my sister introduced me to the heaven that is Sheetz drink center. A place where I can custom order a hot beverage? Yes, please. I am totally and unashamedly addicted to their raspberry white hot chocolate. My wallet, however, is not. Now this recipe specifically doesn’t call for raspberry anything but rest assured I’ve tried it with that. And salted caramel. And peppermint. And none of them disappoint.

For today, though, I’m just gifting you with the three ingredient base so then you can add whatever your little heart desires. AND you can make this with whatever kind of chocolate you want, really. White, dark, milk they all taste good because the magic is in the whisking. You need lots of air to develop the flavor of the chocolate so when you think you’re done whisking, whisk some more and then a little more after that. Don’t skimp on the whisking!

Besides it doesn’t hurt to burn off a few calories building up that whisking arm before you sit down to enjoy a cup or two of this white hot chocolate. Have one of these fresh cranberry orange bars on the side. It makes for good dunking!
