10 months ago I moved from Virginia to Michigan and since about December, when it really started to get cold, my mom has been teasing me about being a southern girl stuck in the middle of a northern winter. That is until winter storm Jonah dumped 3 feet of snow on her house last weekend. And although the number of days it has snowed here is much higher than hers she definitely wins out with volume. She calls it a blizzard I call it karma 😉

Is it weird that I think I’d much rather have 3 feet of snow all at once and then temps in the 50s a week later {true story, it’s supposed to be 53 there this weekend} than temps constantly in the 20s, feeling like the teens, and an inch of snow daily for 2 weeks? Seriously just let me take my winter punishment all at once and get it over with rather than this prolonged wintery gross-ness. Blah. Gross-ness is now a new word. And the lack of sun in this part of the world during winter is making me twitchy.

But when a girl is faced with almost constant flurries when she’d rather see sunshine she’s gotta do what she’s gotta do. And what I gotta do is make snow cream. It’s something I have, not surprisingly, never made before. But it is crazy easy and the base for a pretty perfect milkshake if I do say so myself.

Plus you can customize the flavors with all kinds of fancy things. I used this amazeballs homemade chocolate sauce but you could also use maple syrup, jam in your favorite flavor, plain ol’ vanilla, or even cake mix for tons of different flavor options. Mix in crushed up Oreos or egg-free cookie dough or sprinkles or chocolate chips for a homemade ice cream ready in under 5 minutes.

I always wanted to try snow cream! But I also don't want anymore snow...so maybe next year!

You've come for a great winter, yes it's grey and gloomy, but it's been quite mild! I keep hoping for a good winter storm, but I think the groundhog laid that to rest today :-(

Haha this winter has been dreadful for me and you say it's mild. I don't even know if I'd survive a "regular" winter.
