Adding bath salts with essential oils to a hot bath are a great way to relieve tension, ease sore muscles, and help you sleep.
Spread the gift of relaxing with these delicately scented bath salts that are easier than you think! Before college I was a bath taker. I preferred that over showers because it’s what I grew up doing. No one in our house was ever really a shower taker so the idea was a little foreign to me. When I went to college baths weren’t really an option. I spent a whole year using a communal shower. You learn to love tolerate it. But I was converted and I will say that I’m a shower girl for life now. Every once in awhile, though, I like to take a bath and if I get to add some bubbles or bath salts to it to help me relax even more I’m all for it.
Change this up for the season or based on your tastes by adding just a few drops of your favorite essential oil. I used soothing lavender since I find myself in the bathtub to help relieve stress or help me sleep. Add lemon oil for it’s purifying properties, peppermint to help with mental fatigue, or wintergreen oil to soothe muscles after exercising.
Ingredients
1 cup Epsom salts
1/4 cup salt
2 tbs baking soda
4 to 6 drops of your favorite essential oil
Mix well and store in an airtight container. Add 1 to 2 Tbs to your hot bath water and relax away! You can find essential oils in health food stores, online, and even at locations like Target but a great place to buy quality oil is from a DoTERRA Wellness Advocate! Do you have a favorite essential oil? Tell me in the comments below!
