Cozy up this fall and winter with a comforting mug of pumpkin spice white hot chocolate!
Considering I start getting excited about all things Pumpkin Spice on September 1st I’m a little embarrassed that it’s taken me 51 days to share this recipe with y’all. Making hot chocolate from scratch without cocoa powder is NOT difficult at all and takes just three ingredients. Dark, milk, white, butterscotch, peanut butter…if you can buy it in chip form you can turn it into delicious creamy hot chocolate.
A chef friend showed me how to make hot chocolate years ago and the key was and always will be whisk whisk whisk. The more air you introduce into the chocolate the better it will taste. I’m not sure why but I’ve tried the lazy way out a time or two and it never turns out quite the same. So whisk until you feel like your arm is about to fall off and then keep going.
I’ve seen pumpkin spice white hot chocolate in the crock pot or adding PSL creamer to a store bought mix but this way with my 3 ingredient white hot chocolate and some pumpkin spice is the best way. Plus you can make as little or as much as you want. This recipe doubles and triples beautifully. Provided you have a pot big enough to hold that much milk and cream!
Don’t have pumpkin spice in your cabinet? Don’t feel like you need to run out and buy some because you can always just make your own using this recipe if you want! This hot chocolate is the right amount of sweet and creamy and pumpkin spice-y. If you’re not a white chocolate fan both dark and milk chocolate pair beautifully with pumpkin. Either way you slice it this pumpkin spice white hot chocolate is the bees knees!

I love you for not reaching for a mix. Not that there's anything wrong with that (I have some at home), but from scratch hot chocolate is just so good!

I don't know if I can ever go back! From scratch is so much creamier and has a better flavor!

Byron kept saying pumpkin and chocolate go together like peanut butter and jelly so I just had to see for myself! He was right :D
