Last week I gave you my 10 resolutions for the new year, one of them being to find the silver lining and blog world domination.  For me, those two things are most assuredly linked.  Without naming names I don’t have a massively supportive cheering section in my “real life” for my blog.  I get it, I do.  From the outside it just looks like a lot of playing on the computer to them.  They’re not big blog readers, they don’t understand what really goes into making a blog successful, and while they really enjoy taste testing my recipes they also employ lots of eye rolling and sarcastic remarks during the photo shoots, too.

But when you find something you love you just have to drown out all those voices who don’t understand what you’re going through and forge ahead.  What better way to do that than with a free printable?  I love to surround myself with uplifting quotes because if someone has said it before that means that someone has experienced it before me and I feel a little less alone on my journey.

Buddha knows where it’s at.  I’m slowly coming to terms with the fact that a career I worked my whole life to achieve is something that 1) isn’t actually working out for me and 2) isn’t the job I can see myself doing for the rest of my life anymore.  I’m still looking for a full time job in that field because, let’s face it, I need something to pay the bills but that isn’t stopping me from pursuing my blog full time as well.

Right?  Can I get an amen on this one?  How many people have I talked to in my life that have told me they haven’t reached for something cause it seemed impossible?  How many times have I told myself not to try cause I can’t do it?  Well that’s finished.  No more telling myself I can’t until I try and find out for sure!

This one might be my favorite.  This one hangs up right in front of my desk and helps me to remember that my family and friends don’t need to understand why I quit a job that paid the bills because I came home every day and cried, or why I wasn’t that sad when I got fired from a job I hated, or why I spend so much time busting my butt to make this job a success.  They don’t need to understand.  This isn’t their journey.

Do you have any favorite quotes?  What motivates you to believe in yourself and drown out all the other noise?  Let me know in the comments!  And don’t leave without downloading your free inspirational printables!

I started blogging about books in 2010 and not many people in my real life "got" it! But it was awesome to connect with other readers like me. I'm starting a new blog about organizing now, and I'm getting some eyerolls. But it makes me happy, so I'm just going to do it and not worry about what anyone thinks. :)

Here's a quote that come to mind after reading your post: "Don't let someone dim your light, simply because it's shining in their eyes."

Yay! That's the perfect attitude! There are plenty of people out here in blog land who understand your passion and support it, too! I can't wait to read what you'll be putting up on your new site. I love the clean design :) What a great quote! I'll be adding it to my collection!
