Spread the Easter love this season with a fun and interactive cookie decorating kit! Simple to make, fun to put together, and a sweet way to show you care!
Apparently I’m all about seasonal sugar cookies this year. Not that my family is even trying to complain about that. Especially since I ended up making my Valentine’s Day sugar cookies three times. Add it to my list of seasonal things I love even though between you, me, and the internet I’ve been a terrible slacker on seasonal decor around these parts. And other than these caramel filled cupcakes I sort of forgot about St. Patrick’s day altogether. Oops.
But I’m making up for it with this super cute Easter basket idea. My mom, one of the least involved people in the kitchen, loved helping me decorate those Valentine’s Day cookies so I figured if I could get her involved what kid wouldn’t want to be wrist deep in frosting and sprinkles?
Whether you want your little ones to wake up to this fun treat on Easter morning or surprise it with them a few days before. Or feed them these cookies and then release them on your neighborhood Easter egg hunt. You can gift this to grandkids, friends, nieces, nephews, neighbors…are you getting that this is a pretty universal gift?
In a season of candy extravaganza cookies with a rich royal icing and sprinkles might not be your go to but getting into the kitchen with the kiddos is a fun way to make some memories. Plus stuff those plastic Easter eggs with money and your kids will tear up that yard looking for those eggs!
This recipe is exactly the same as my Valentine’s Day recipe. I’m not sure about you but every time I make a recipe again I learn something new. Pretty much every single time. So if you get distracted fetching your pathetically sick sister {love you!} a glass of water and over beat your royal icing just thin it out with some water, adding a teaspoon at a time just like you would when you’re making flood icing until it reaches a piping consistency.
Include some directions for your lovely peeps about how to make flood icing and a sweet Easter message and hop around to all the people you love in your life and spread the Easter goodness!
What’s your favorite Easter treat or tradition?
