Need a delicious game time snack? These OREO Cookie basketballs and creamy and sweet 3 ingredient fruit dip are the perfect way to celebrate the big tournament this year!
Tournament time is practically a holiday in our home. On the years when we can swing it the working adults take vacation days and spend the entire week parked on the couch, in our favorite gear, yelling at the tv! I love to fill out a bracket, place casual bets with my family, and get so immersed in college hoops my clock becomes the game schedule. And then there’s the food. Second only to basketball are the snacks that you get to munch on while you watch the games.
We are huge fans of REESE’S in our house and OREO Cookies and the rest of the fam abosolutely loves Coke Zero {I’m not much of a soda person, though}. So I ran into Target, grabbed everything I needed, and rushed home to whip up my favorite game day recipes. Other than my loaded baked potato dip this fruit dip has got to be my most requested recipe. Whether it’s for a game day appetizer or a movie night with the girls this fruit dip is a favorite among my friends and family.
Don’t let the word “fruit” confuse you because the healthiest thing about this dip is the fruit you dip into it. But the best thing about this dip is the REESE’S you top it with! And with only three ingredients its no wonder this dip is a must have for your tournament watching marathon this season! Don’t worry, you’ll burn off all those calories by cheering and jumping up and down 😉 But I think my favorite might be these OREO Cookies that look just like basketballs.
And honestly these babies are just as easy as the fruit dip. And so cute!! Just melt my favorite Wilton Candy Melts in the microwave or a double boiler {sometimes I use white chocolate and dye it orange instead}, use a fork to dip the OREOs, and set it on a baking rack to set. Easy peasy! I let mine set up in the freezer for about 30 minutes and then I melted some milk chocolate for the basketball laces. They turned out SO CUTE!

Basketball Oreos & Slam Dunk Fruit Dip
Ingredients
For the OREOs:
- 1 12 oz package Wilton candy melts in orange
- 1 package of Double Stuff OREO Cookies
- 1/4 cup milk or dark chocolate
For the Fruit Dip:
- 8 oz package cream cheese, room temperature
- ¼ cup salted caramel sauce
- ¼ cup REESE'S minis, roughly chopped
Instructions
For the OREOs:
- Melt candy melts in a microwave safe bowl for one minute, stirring after 30 seconds. Melt in 15 second increments until completely smooth.
- Dip the cookie into the melted candy with a fork, tapping off any excess and set on a wire baking rack or cookie sheet lined with foil. Allow to set until firm in the freezer, about 30 minutes.
- Once fully set decorate them with your melted milk chocolate to look like basketballs!
For the Fruit Dip:
- Turn your cream cheese onto a piece of plastic wrap and shape into a ball.
- Top with salted caramel sauce and chopped REESE'S.
- Serve with apples, pretzels, graham crackers, animal crackers, or other dippables of choice!

Yes! Pretzels are my favorite for the sweet and salty combination but just about any fruit will do, too :)
